I’m a travel blogger and I love both traveling and blogging. Although I have a smartphone and a Mac laptop, it sometimes gets clumsy and heavy to travel with. So I was looking for a tablet that helps me do everything right from, comfort reading, blogging, snap pictures, shoot videos, enjoy music, access to maps, download apps, do Skype, update my social networks and one that is easy to carry. Like I believe, right things happen at the right times, I received a tablet I ever needed from lovely Asus called Zenpad S 8.0. I have been a fan of this brand because they offer complex quality without being heavy on the budget. The range of Zenpad from Asus are quite impressive, and this one is no exception. Here is my review on Asus Zenpad S 8.0 –
At first look – Right out of the box I felt light, sleek and stylish about Asus Zenpad S 8.0 white which was unbelievably thin and appeared little similar to the iPad Mini series. It has an 8-inch super-convenient screen that forced me to imagine the thrill I could have while gaming and surfing. You can clearly figure out the efforts Asus has put in to bring out a 6.6mm thin with curved edge tablet yet feels solid on hand. The front panel is glossy that is surrounded by impressive chrome trim, while the backside of the tab is faux leather and textured plastic job offering cross-hairline finish metal panel. This Zenpad is surprisingly lightweight (298g) and you automatically get the “executive” feel upon holding!
Display and Performance – The 8-inch screen is a 2K one, owing 1536 x 2048 resolution. The LED backlight screen is sharp and crystal that dint hurt my vision while watching videos. I used the Asus Splendid app, to optimize color balance, sharpness, and more just like on my computer monitor. I had my eyes wide open, when I discovered the tablet packs quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom Z3560 processor and 2GB RAM on the device, which is hard to expect with competing tablets on market. The storage space was a savior in my case as I travel a lot, I need to carry and store a lot of stuff. Asus Zenpad S 8.0 has an in-build 32GB storage space with microSD cards and also expandable up to 128GB and 4GB RAM is enough to take care of tab’s speed issues.
Battery Life – I often hear my friends and colleagues cribbing about how fast their tablet battery gets exhausted while traveling. So I wasn’t expecting much from Zenpad S 8.0, but again as Asus promised it offered decent 8-hours battery life keeping my travel in check. After fully charging the 13Wh Li-polymer battery, I carried the tablet to various places and performing various activities like updating social networks, clicking snaps, writing and other yet the battery was supportive for 8 hours.
Camera and Audio – Photography is my passion, I love to snap everything I find interesting and worth sharing. Asus has an 8 Megapixels allotted for the rear camera and 5 megapixels for front-facing, which was cool enough for a tablet in this range. Asus also did a good job by adding 15 different filters pre-loaded for clicking pictures in different views. Lastly, something that impressed me the most is the Asus Audio Cover, which as dual front-firing Sonic Master speakers with DTS HD Premium Sound. It gave me the ultimate audio experience on the go!
Easy on Travel – This one is easy on travel by all means. Whether you are lying on couch reading books, or want to make a blog post, due to easy handling it will make your travel more comfortable. Asus Zenpad S 8.0 is both flexible and portable, which on my last trip made me realize I don’t need to carry any laptop along. There is actually nothing that can’t be done from this tablet while on the road if you have right accessories and apps. Now, Asus Zenpad S 8.0 has become my best buddy without which I don’t plan any smallest of a road trips!
Asus Zenpad S 8.0 is one of the best Android tablets in the market and I can’t stop bragging about it to people I meet. I would recommend buying a tablet from Asus especially this one because it is totally worth it for the price of around 18k!
