With the scenic mist-covered mountains, the unique culture of the people, and coffee plantations filled with a rich aroma, Coorg instantly impressed me and I have marked it as one of my most favorite weekend getaways. I have visited several places in Coorg and enjoyed the spectacular views and a mind-blowing experience. This gorgeous hill station is a rare destination I would love to return to. When our family traveled in this part of the state, we enjoyed the outdoor adventures and splendid views that made us forget our routine life.

When we first visited this magnificent place, we were amazed by the mouth-watering food here that is made of magical ingredients. The homemade wine was one of a kind. As first-time visitors, we were charmed by the rolling green hills and breathtaking valleys abundant in this hill station. We were at a loss for words when we experienced the spectacular views it offers. This destination receives continuous footfalls throughout the year. The once favorite spot of the erstwhile Kodagu Royalty, this place offers a breathtaking view of the valley that won our hearts.

A visit to this place at sunrise or sunset will make your day. The morning or fading rays of the sun penetrating the mist-covered valley displays magical colors and add a magical touch to the moment. We chose to visit during sunrise and immediately decided that the next time, we will go there during sunset as well.

The pearly white Falls with its green backdrop of trees offers a stunningly beautiful sight. We experienced bliss and fell in love with the richness of the Western Ghats and its abundant greenery around here. This spot is like paradise to photography enthusiasts and nature lovers. The Falls, set amidst a panoramic landscape and cascading down from a height of 70 feet, really fascinated everyone in our group.

Abbey Falls is just perfect for a picnic; it offered the right atmosphere to relax with family. We came to know that it is especially alluring during the monsoon season. As such, it offered a tranquil, unforgettable experience that we will cherish forever.

We were particularly awestruck by the mesmerizing views.  The absence of shops or any other interruptions heightened the experience. It is filled with the beauty of pristine nature and the spellbinding charms of the cool breeze.

We got to know that the lake got its name from the legend of Goddess Honnamana, who sacrificed her life for the people’s welfare. This lake emanates serenity and stillness that provided a fantastic experience to us.
