This winter, I had only one place in mind I wanted to visit – Dalhousie. I heard so much about this beautiful hill town; I knew I had to experience the thrill and beauty myself! I must say, I wasn’t disappointed at all! I’ve listed the 11 best places to visit near Dalhousie in this blog.

If you wish to spend most of your time wandering around the town and witnessing some picture-perfect moments, April to June is the best time to visit Dalhousie. The temperature ranges between 18 degrees to 29 degrees during these months – the perfect weather to explore the places to visit in Dalhousie!

You can reach Dalhousie via a flight, train, or road. 

a. Flight: You can take a flight to Pathankot Airport, 75 kilometres from Dalhousie, and then take a bus or cab to Dalhousie.

b. Train: Dalhousie is 80 kilometres from Pathankot, which is well connected to numerous Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, and Amritsar. To reach Dalhousie, a bus or cab ride can be taken from the Pathankot station.

c. Road: Local buses from Kangra, Dharamshala, Khajjiar, and Chamba cost approximately INR 150/- each. The NH1 can also go to Dalhousie, and the journey will take about 10 hours.

The top of the hill is barren of any vegetation. The name ‘bald hill’ comes from its barrenness. The hill is great for a climb and one of the top spots to visit in Dalhousie because of the mesmerising views of the surroundings and the pure mountain air.
